My 92 year old father is in a nursing home because he is blind and can no longer walk. I was referred to Hears to U by... the State of MN Department of Human Services-Deaf & Hard of hearing. I needed an Audiologist to go to my father due to his mobility issues. Malia provided excellent customer service getting everything arranged so Kim could come to my father and make her assessment on his hearing situation.Kim went above and beyond to help my father. I would highly recommend Hears to U!read more

I have a severe hearing loss that started in my 30s, and have owned four pairs of hearing aids over the past 20 years.... I recently switched from a large local audiology clinic to Hears to U.Hears to U is a small office, and service there is personal and friendly. The office has a happy almost-family vibe, where owner/audiologist Kim Fishman and her (excellent) assistant Malia are more friends and peers than boss and subordinate. Hears to U is an unusually welcoming business!Kim carefully read my history before my appointment, and listened attentively to what I was saying. She worked to understand how my hearing loss was affecting me psychologically, and realized quickly that I needed thorough explanations to feel good about each step we took to address my hearing loss.Kim explained clearly what she could and couldn’t do for my hearing. She explained why her business carries many different hearing aid brands, and why a customer-focused clinic cannot have a brand allegiance.Kim quickly made my 5 year old hearing aids work better than they ever have (this after many rounds of adjustment at my previous audiology clinic). She explained exactly what I could expect from additional programs so I could get the most from them. She didn’t push me towards new hearing aids at all, leaving any move in that direction completely up to me.Over the next month, Kim fitted me with four different hearing aids, kept in touch during the week via email, and quickly answered questions and provided clear explanations. After these trials, one set clearly worked much better than others (and notably better than my existing aids).Purchasing was different than at my old clinic, where pricing was opaque and offered only one level of service at one (premium) price. Kim has clear, transparent pricing that let me choose between packaged and a la carte service. By tailoring a package to how I use services, Hears to U saved me $2500 on my new hearing aids.Kim did a full fitting to optimize the new aids. My hearing isn’t suddenly perfect by any means, but I’m hearing better than I have in the past 20 years. It’s hard to describe how much this means to me!I really liked my previous audiology clinic, and would not even have looked elsewhere except a recurring issue made me rethink my allegiance. I’m really glad they let me down, because it resulted in me getting a much better outcome from a more fun, far less expensive audiologist and clinic!Thank you, Kim!read more

I have seen Kim Fishbein for 5 years for asymmetrical hearing loss. She is technically skilled, a pleasure to be with... and makes creative solutions (the orchestra setting for sitting a bit to the left, which means the violins might dominate) is genius.I just got another exam and tune. She is by far the best audiologist that I have seenread more

I have had a moderate hearing loss for many years. Recent, during the pandemic, I had a sudden severe loss which left... me almost completely deaf. My experience with hearing aids had been far from satisfactory. Usually I was tested, then fitted with a hearing device and sent on my way without the needed support and care. I needed to get help.I turned to “Hears to U” and found that they use a very different approach. They emphasize getting to know you and your specific hearing loss. I was tested, then given opportunity to try out a variety of devices until a good fit was achieved. Adapting to hearing aids can be very difficult, but because of their care and support I was able to achieve significant improvement.I strongly recommend Kim at “Hears to U” because of her understanding of the evolving hearing aid technology and how to help the patient learn to successfully use it.Richard Rread more

I'm definitely not a techie kind of person! Even the idea of using my smartphone to control my hearing aid was... intimidating. But, with the upbeat encouragement and simple instructions I received from Kim Fishman at Hears to U, I began experimenting with different aids and getting more comfortable with the technology. By the time I'd selected the perfect aid for me, Kim joked that I could almost be her audiologist assistant! This was a much more "investigative" process than I'd ever experienced before in selecting a hearing aid. (Especially when I'd shopped at a warehouse store.) I was given the opportunity to try different aids, get good, thorough testing over a period of time, learn about my particular hearing loss, and keep working on finding the optimal aid for me.I'm really grateful for this experience of good, individualized care. Kim really understands what she's doing and what you'll need. I highly, HIGHLY recommend Hears to U!read more

I came to Hears to U (and Kim Fishman) after years of struggle with another team of audiologist who told me they could... do nothing more for my hearing loss. Turns out - - they were right - - they didn’t have the skill, the intuition or the training! Lucky for me, a friend turned me on to Chears, where Kim opened my world. Something there is in her way of testing, listening, caring and fitting devices - - - I now hear the birds, my barking dog, and most importantly - the laughter of my grandchildren. Thanks, Kim! And thanks, Kim Fishman, Audiology!read more

Kim at Hears to U Audiology in Hopkins recently set me up with a new hearing aid from Widex and a Widex Com-Dex, a... wearable Wi-fi instrument for people with difficulties using their phones. The hearing aid is a Widex Evoke 330, and I’m getting excellent results from it. It’s quiet and quite clear and crisp, but the Com-Dex is what I’m most excited about. I’m very deaf, and I have a LOT of trouble dealing with phone calls. My family members are understanding and I can usually talk to them, but service calls, making appointments, calling a store or a restaurant for information can be a horror story. Many times I’ve had to hang up or give the phone to my wife to complete the call. In the few days I’ve had it the Com-Dex has changed everything. I’ve been making calls with confidence. No more “I’m sorry could you please repeat that? I’m hard of hearing.” The most common words I’ve spoken on the telephone for the last ten years. It sounds like an exaggeration, but to me it has been life changing. I really recommend trying one to anyone who has fear or frustration making phone calls.Kim is everything you want in a health care professional. Super competent, wonderful to work with, the best.read more

I was very pleased with Kim Fishman, Audiology! Kim was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The service I got was A+ and I... highly recommend Chears. I generally don't leave reviews, but I was so impressed Kim and Chears, I want everyone to know about this place. Kim even called a few days later to see how the hearing aids were working out. They don't disappoint. The best part is, I can hear! I had no idea how much I was missing. From the bottom of my heart, I thank Kim and Chears!read more

I've been very impressed with the caring and service I've received at Chears. This is my first experience with hearing... aids. Kim and her staff patiently explained the ins and outs of hearing loss and modern hearing aid technology. They also helped me demo several different brands at different price points over the course of several weeks. That experience was invaluable. I was able to find sound quality that I liked with the features I wanted (especially T-loop and rechargeable batteries), all at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!read more

I got excellent care at Chears. I had been disappointed by the hearing aids I tried at another audiologist and was... reluctant to try again. However, Kim at Chears gave me several different kinds to try after listening carefully to my concerns. She is very knowledgeable about how hearing loss affects people differently and the need to find the right hearing aid and then calibrate it to give me the best sound. Chears has Saturday hours!! so it is easy to get an appointment. Her costs are far more reasonable than other places I've checked. I highly recommend her. All the people I worked with at Chears really want me to hear better. Also, this is the first review I have ever written.read more
